Solar Energy Industries Association to Combine with Coalition for Community Solar Access, Strengthening Advocacy for Entire Solar & Storage Industry Across the Country

WASHINGTON D.C. — The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA) today announced that the two organizations will combine following approval from each organization’s Boards of Directors. Effective in early October, CCSA will integrate its team, resources, and policy work within SEIA.
The two organizations both have successful individual histories of driving growth for segments of the industry. SEIA is the largest national trade association for the solar and storage industry and has a longstanding track record, with its founding in 1974, of spurring growth across the industry, including utility-scale, commercial, and residential segments. CCSA has operated as the national trade association for community solar and storage developers, businesses, and nonprofits, and has driven the rapid acceleration of the market over the last decade.
“By bringing CCSA into SEIA, we’re creating a stronger, more unified voice for the solar and storage industry,” said SEIA CEO Tim Pawlenty. “Together, we’ll build on CCSA’s success and become a more powerful advocate for every segment of the industry.”
Combined, the two organizations now form the only national trade association representing every segment of the solar and storage industry, with an expanded network and enhanced capabilities to shape market and policy priorities at both the state and federal levels.
The organization will represent companies across utility-scale, residential, commercial, and community segments. Together, the organizations form a single, powerful voice for solar and storage, driving and realizing continued growth and representing the full expansion of these resources across the country.
“A little more than a decade ago, CCSA was formed to create greater access to solar for all Americans. Today, as distributed community power has become one of the most credible solutions to affordability and grid reliability, so has the need for greater scale, resources, and expertise to meet the moment,” said Jeff Cramer, departing CEO of CCSA. “I am deeply proud of the work we have done, the team we built, and the industry we helped shape, and equally excited to see it evolve inside SEIA.”
Solar and storage continue to expand their roles in the U.S. energy system. Together, these technologies represent over 70% of new capacity added to the grid so far in 2026, and the energy storage market saw its largest quarter on record in Q2. The U.S. also continues to set solar and storage manufacturing records.
