QTREX Quantum Partners with Northeastern University to Advance Cryogenic Interconnects

Israel-based hardware developer QTREX Quantum Ltd. (Nasdaq: QTEX) has launched a research collaboration with Northeastern University to develop advanced micro-system structures for cryogenic quantum interconnects. Pursuant to the agreement, Northeastern grants QTREX a first option to negotiate a commercial license for all sole or jointly developed intellectual property arising directly from the joint research. Led by Prof. Benyamin Davaji, the effort pairs Northeastern’s Quantum Materials and Sensing Institute with QTREX’s Additively Manufactured Electronics (AME) platform to expand the company’s vertically integrated quantum connectivity pipeline.

The research program focuses on evaluating three-dimensional additively manufactured micro-system structures and interconnect geometries designed to withstand sub-Kelvin operational conditions inside dilution cryostats. Joint engineering teams will characterize conductive, dielectric, and superconducting materials under cryogenic thresholds to ensure low thermal dissipation and signal integrity. By leveraging micron-scale additive deposition, the initiative aims to address a critical hardware bottleneck in scaling quantum processors: replacing traditional bulky, hand-assembled coaxial wiring harnesses with high-density, three-dimensional routing channels printed directly into monolithic structural interfaces.

The collaboration builds on QTREX’s recent operational pivot from legacy medical technology toward advanced quantum packaging and defense electronics. Following its recent fabrication of a single-build AME cryogenic chip carrier and an Israel Innovation Authority grant for custom RF dielectric substrates, this university partnership establishes a structured pathway to translate academic micro-system research into commercialized quantum hardware.

Chalmers University Demonstrates TRIO Pulses for Control-Error-Robust Single-Qubit Gates in Superconducting Processors

Chalmers University of Technology has developed TRIO pulses, a new quantum control framework for superconducting processors. These pulses enable single-qubit gates to maintain high fidelity even with significant control-amplitude miscalibrations and frequency detuning errors. This breakthrough offers a way to reduce recalibration overheads in large-scale quantum processors and has been demonstrated with an X-gate achieving 99.90% fidelity. Open Quantum Launches Native Qrisp Integration for High-Level QPU Execution Across IonQ, Rigetti, IQM, and AQT Hardware

Open Quantum has launched a native Qrisp integration, enabling high-level QPU execution across IonQ, Rigetti, IQM, and AQT hardware. This allows developers to compile and execute Qrisp programs directly on physical QPUs without writing vendor-specific gate-level code. The integration simplifies quantum programming by providing software-engineering abstractions, automated qubit allocation, and memory management. RIKEN Demonstrates High-Fidelity Simultaneous Control of Silicon Spin Qubits Above 99.9% Threshold

Researchers at RIKEN and collaborators have achieved high-fidelity simultaneous control of five silicon spin qubits, maintaining over 99.9% accuracy. They overcame crosstalk caused by AC-Stark shifts through a new calibration protocol, enabling the use of a single microwave control line. This breakthrough meets the fault-tolerant threshold for quantum error correction and paves the way for more scalable quantum computers.
